Knead in extra flour (about 1 cup). Keeps in fridge a long time. Half recipe is enough for 3  4 children.<br /> <br /> </p> <p> <a name="playdough2"><strong>Playdough 2</strong></a><br /> 1 cup flour<br /> 1/2 cup salt<br /> 1 tbsp oil<br /> 1 tbsp cream of tarter<br /> 1 cup water<br /> food coloring<br /> <br /> Mix well. Cook on medium heat till it  globs . Cool slightly and knead. Store in air tight container. Stays nice and moist!<br /> <br /> </p> <p> <a name="glue"><strong>Old Fashioned Glue or Paste</strong></a><br /> 1 cup flour<br /> 1/2 cup sugar<br /> 2 cups water<br /> <br /> Cook until thick. It becomes solid when left alone, but turns liquid from the heat of your hands.<br /> <br /> </p> <p> <a name="fingerpaint1"><strong>Fingerpaint 1</strong></a><br /> 1 cup flour<br /> 1 cup cold water<br /> 3 cups boiling water<br /> Food coloring or dry poster paint<br /> <br /> Mix flour and cold water. Add boiling water and bring all to a boil, stirring constantly. Add food coloring or dry poster paint. Freezer wrap or any shiny sided paper makes a good surface for fingerpainting.<br /> <br /> </p> <p> <a name="fingerpaint2"><strong>Fingerpaint 2</strong></a><br /> Easy to make and easy clean-up<br /> <br /> liquid dishwashing detergent<br /> Water<br /> Food colouring or tempera<br /> <br /> Add water slowly to detergent until it s a pasty mixture. Add coloring.<br /> <br /> </p> <p> <a name="soap"><strong>Whipped Soap</strong></a><br /> 2 cups powdered Ivory Snow<br /> 1 cup water<br /> food colouring<br /> <br /> Beat until stiff with an electric beater. Adding more water allows it to be pushed through a cookie press or icing press but is still good for children to work with their hands on a surface It dries well and has a different texture. <br /> <br /> </p> <p> <a name="sanddough"><strong>Coloured Sand Dough</strong></a><br /> 1 cup fine sand<br /> 1/2 cup laundry starch<br /> 3/4 cup hot water food colouring or tempura<br /> <br /> Combine ingredients. Add colouring. Cook over low heat until thick.<br /> <br /> ***Substitute the sand for powdered Ivory Snow and don t cook it.
