Self-Employment Opportunities
Southgate Medallion Family Day Homes services all of Edmonton and Sherwood Park. Providers are needed in all areas for exceptional care to children from birth to age 11. The focus of family child care, however, is infant care. Providers are needed for full-time care, part-time care and back-up care during regular daytime working hours as well as evenings and weekends. Sometimes respite child care is needed by parents who access our family day homes through social workers, health care or other community workers.
Mothers and sometimes fathers, who are willing to parent someone else’s children, make a valuable
contribution to their community.
Good providers:
- Model appropriate parenting skills
- Value and enjoy children and that benefits everyone they associate with
- Teach the children to respect themselves and others and the property of others
- Prepare little children for happy school experiences
- Are like good parents everywhere
- Teach and coach and applaud and cheer on a child to become everything they are capable of becoming
